| The Navy: Sailors with the U.S. Marine Corps
The story of the Marines cannot be properly told without
including those members of the U.S. Navy who have gone everywhere the Marines
have gone since the birth of the Corps in 1775. These sailors fall into three major groupings: The Medical Corps, The Chaplain's Corps and The Naval Construction Battalions.
While the Marines ride in naval ships, fly naval
aircraft, and the Navy Supply Corps all provide support for the Marines and
the Marine mission, none have been as closely associated as the Docs, Chaplains,
and the Seebees. |
